Following are some of the key features in Job Prospector that will help you to be proactive and feel in control of your job search activities.



The main menu gives you access to each Task.
 Vacancies
Use this task to enter details of any vacancies that you may be interested in. They may have been provided in a job advertisement or obtained from others sources such as newspapers, job websites, employment agencies, etc.

 Employers
This Task enables you to store and retrieve details on prospective employers. Employer information will normally be stored and linked to a specific job vacancy. It can also be stored independently of any other information as it would be useful for any speculative approaches you may wish to make.

Agencies
You may be registered with several Employment Agencies, directly or through their website. Use this Task to store any information linked to a specific agency job vacancy. Information on agencies can also be stored independently of any other information for general reference purposes, i.e. speculative approaches.



Contacts
In the course of your job search you may get information on all sorts of people. They may be contacts with specific employers or contacts at agencies you are registered with. It may be that you have several Contacts at the same employer or agency. Use this task to keep track of all your contacts, link them to specific employers or agencies and access their information quickly.

Applications
When you decide to apply for a vacancy you will want to keep track of activities and progress. This Task enables you to chart the progress of applications made. Each job application record is linked to vacancy details plus any Interviews you get invited to. When you attend interviews, you will want to make notes on arrangements and outcomes. Each interview record is linked to a specific application and the relevant Employer. Multiple interview records may be linked to a specific application so you can record second or even third interviews.

Personal Details
The Personal Details Task enables you to enter all of your data just once and then use it as needed in your Job search. It includes various forms of information such as your work experience, training and education. This will be required either for filling in applications forms or to help you prepare for interviews.  You might also find this information useful in other aspects of your life. If you keep it updated you will find it a very useful resource!
For security reasons,  the Personal Details task can be automatically encrypted whenever you close the Task. This ensures that your personal data is protected and safe.

Activities
The activities Task will be useful for keeping a record of all your job search activities. Job Prospector will update this list at the end of each session or when you save new applications or interviews. You are also able to add other activities that you have undertaken such as phone calls, visits to Job Centre plus etc. If you keep this updated daily you will save yourself time, be able to monitor your progress and print off a report as proof of Job search.
